Cuomo emails donors for help on minimum wage
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is using his campaign fund to back his initiative to raise minimum wage in New York.
Cuomo's campaign committee, Cuomo 2018, sent emails to donors this week asking them to pitch in to fund his proposal to raise the wage to $15 per hour. The Democrat earlier this year opposed an initiative to raise it that high, but changed his mind in recent months and says he'll push for $15 in the 2016 legislative session.
"If you agree that it's time for a $15 minimum wage, please donate $15 to help us fund the fight," Cuomo said in the email -- though upon clicking the link donors are presented with contribution options up to $1,500, or they can type in a higher amount.
