Cuomo set to make third trip to Israel
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is making his third trip to Israel since taking office, describing it as part trade mission, part “message of solidarity.”
"There has been a rash of anti-Semitism all across this country,” Cuomo said in a radio interview Monday. “We've had it in this state, all across this state, and it's repugnant to what New Yorkers believe and feel. I hope there is a message of solidarity and partnership in my trip to Israel.”
Cuomo, along with other state officials and some business leaders, will depart Wednesday. Among the commerce issues, Cuomo said he hoped to talk with Israeli software companies about drone and navigational technology.
The governor, a Democrat, first visited Israel in 2014, amid his re-election campaign.
