Cuomo renews vow to veto 'partisan' lines; clashes with lawmaker
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, as noted in this upstate report , pledged again to veto any redistricting map for 2012 that does not represent a non-partisan plan. In the process, legislative task force member Assemb. Jack McEneny (D-Albany) termed it petty and dumb to issue a veto on anything other than the merits of the lines.
Anti-gerrymandering activist Ed Koch, the former NYC mayor, praised Cuomo's position.
