Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is vacationing in the Caribbean with family, his office said Friday. This comes after his office sent out his schedule late Thursday saying only that the governor was "out of state."

"The governor is on vacation with family in the Caribbean, returning Monday night," Cuomo spokeswoman Melissa Derosa said in a statement. "Lt. Gov. (Kathy) Hochul will be in New York for the duration of the governor's trip."

The governor's office didn't disclose exactly where Cuomo is vacationing. Later, it said Cuomo is using personal funds for the vacation.

The trip comes just days after lawmakers signed off on New York's 2015-16 budget. The Senate and Assembly have adjourned until April 21. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio also is vacationing this week in the Caribbean; he is reportedly traveling to Puerto Rico.
