Elaine Phillips endorsed by Nassau PBA in Senate race

The Nassau County Police Benevolent Association, the county’s largest police union, has endorsed Republican Elaine Phillips for State Senate in the Seventh District against Democratic businessman Adam Haber.
“I am honored to receive the support of Nassau County’s police officers who work tirelessly to keep us safe,” said Phillips, mayor of the Village of Flower Hill. “The brave, professional men and women in blue stand the line every day on our behalf, and in the Senate, I will proudly stand with them to put public safety first.”
Haber this week received the backing of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association.
“Adam Haber is proud to have been recently endorsed by the New York State Police who highlighted his commitment to keeping our communities and families safe on Long Island,” said Haber spokesman Jonathan Heppner. “He is committed to common-sense gun safety laws and ensuring that our law enforcement has the tools they need to help combat the opioid and heroin crisis that is destroying lives.”
Earlier this week, Phillips was endorsed by the Police Conference of New York, which represents the PBA, the Nassau Superior Officers Association, the Nassau Detectives Association and local police departments in Great Neck Estates, Old Westbury and Sands Point. The New York State Police Investigators Association endorsed Phillips on Friday.
Phillips and Haber are vying to replace GOP State Sen. Jack Martins, who is vacating the seat to run for Congress.
