AMBER F. BRACH-WILLIAMS

Republican, Conservative

BACKGROUND:

  • Brach-Williams, 61, of Shelter Island, is seeking the supervisor spot after two terms on the town board. She was first elected in 2016 to complete an unexpired term. She also is running on the Conservative line.
  • She earned a bachelor’s in accounting at Binghamton University and a master’s in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a CPA with a small practice.
  • She is treasurer for the Shelter Island Fire District and serves as deputy supervisor on the board.

ISSUES:

  • Completing the town's comprehensive plan would be a priority, she said, since it affects how the town proceeds on other fronts such as zoning, water quality and septic issues and affordable housing.
  • To help increase the amount of affordable housing, she said the town should investigate town-owned land that may be viable for housing.
  • She said she would investigate the feasibility of providing piped water from the West Neck Water District to municipal buildings in the center of town.
