David D. Weber Jr.

Republican

BACKGROUND

• Weber, 58, of Northport, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is a member of the Northport village board.
• He has an associate’s degree in political science from Daytona State College in Florida.
• Weber owns Seymour’s Boatyard in Northport.

ISSUES

• Weber said that if elected his top priority would be addressing the high cost of living on Long Island by lowering energy costs, minimizing taxes and fees on energy consumption and keeping property taxes low.
• He said another focus would be to make sure that law enforcement has the tools to effectively do their job and that judges have the ability to keep criminals locked up.
• Weber said environmental conservation is another top concern. He said he wants to make sure to preserve clean water and protect coastal lands within the district against erosion and flooding.
