David Hassid

BACKGROUND
- Hassid, 23, of Great Neck, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He graduated from Stony Brook University in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in political science.
- He was the legislative director for New York State Assemb. Daniel Norber from January 2025 to this past January.
- This year, Hassid spent several months as a legislative aide for North Hempstead Councilman Yaron Levy. For the past couple months, he has been a legislative aide for the Town of Oyster Bay.
ISSUES
- Hassid said that if elected he wants to introduce legislation to cut state income taxes for families who make less than $100,000 annually.
- He said he would like to amend New York’s bail reform laws so that more crimes mandate bail.
- Hassid said he is passionate about getting his generation more involved in local politics. He said he plans to promote internships in his office for young constituents.
