BACKGROUND:
- Varricchio, 82, of Smithtown, is seeking her eighth term in office.
- She won her first term in 2002 and worked for a local bank in Smithtown for over 20 years.
- She graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Queens.
ISSUES:
- Varricchio said that during her tenure, a secure drop box was installed near the front doors of Town Hall for residents to pay by check even after office hours during tax season.
- While in office, she said she worked to improve convenience to residents through her office allowing credit card payments and e-checks to be made via telephone or the internet.
- She said she wants to work to continue to have the receiver's office run efficiently.
