BACKGROUND:
- Silverman, 53 , of Glen Cove, is running for her fourth term as a council member.
- She works in financial data analytics.
- She serves on the Glen Cove Memorial Day committee and is a member of the board of directors of the Nassau County Economic Opportunity Commission.
ISSUES:
- Silverman said that if reelected, she will continue to advocate for “fiscal responsibility, transparency and the improvement of city finances through long-term budgeting and planning.”
- She said she will ensure that “all Glen Cove residents have a voice in government regardless of race, origin or demographic characteristic,” and she will “continue to provide educational programming for underrepresented groups promoting diversity.”
- Regarding the creation of the city’s new master plan, she said she will “solicit the will of the community” and advocate for “balanced development addressing local needs, including affordable housing, that does not over-develop and negatively impact the environment.”
