BACKGROUND:
- Jenkins, 54, is a 1986 graduate of Glen Cove High School, and has a bachelor’s in finance from SUNY Old Westbury.
- She worked for 25 years as an advertising agency senior executive in Manhattan and is a co-founder of The Three Tomatoes, a women’s lifestyle website.
- She ran for the city council in 2021 and lost by one vote. She serves on the city’s finance committee and its business development council.
ISSUES:
- Jenkins said her background in marketing and finance “goes hand in hand with being fiscally responsible.”
- She said that in her career she has managed budgets that exceed Glen Cove’s budget.
- “I am passionate about showcasing all the wonderful things our city has to offer,” she said, “such as our beautiful beaches, parks, public golf course and amenities for youth.”
