BACKGROUND:
- Reinhart, 51, of Long Beach, is making his first bid for public office. He is an agency development manager for Columbia, South Carolina-based Colonial Life insurance.
- He was vice president for product development and merchandising at Ralph Lauren corporate headquarters in Manhattan, where he worked from 1998 to 2021.
- He has coached basketball, volleyball and soccer for Long Beach youth teams and is a former Long Beach Lightning hockey team manager.
ISSUES:
- Reinhart said he is running because “I have spent my career managing multiple strategy and development teams, and rather than complain and accept, I decided to get involved” in city government.
- He said that if elected he will focus “on stopping the skyrocketing taxes in Long Beach” by “working with some of our incredible assets we have here in our city to increase revenue and taking the burden off the residents.”
- He said decisions affecting the city should be made by “local residents … not by outside politicized influences.”
