BACKGROUND:
- Losquadro, 51, of Shoreham, is seeking his fifth term after winning a special election in 2013.
- He was a state assemblyman from 2011 to 2013, and a Suffolk County legislator from 2003 to 2010.
- He received a bachelor’s in history from Stony Brook University.
ISSUES:
- Losquadro said he plans to continue seeking outside funding such as state and federal grants for bridge and other projects. He said the Highway Department has received almost $250,000 in the past 10 years for projects such as replacing a Port Jefferson bridge.
- He said he plans to focus on drainage on local roads to help combat the impact of rising sea levels.
- He said he would maintain a 15-year cycle of paving roads.
