- Kennedy, 51, of Massapequa, was first elected to the 12th Legislative District in a special election in 2015. Before that, he was a fifth-grade teacher at Holy Child Academy.
- He coaches many sports and teaches religion classes at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Massapequa.
- He is involved in the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and Sons of the American Legion.
- Kennedy said he is concerned about Gov. Kathy Hochul’s housing plan, which he said would disregard what Long Island families want and destroy the suburbs.
- He said he will continue to meet the fentanyl epidemic head on and get help to those who need it most.
- He pledged his support for the Nassau County Police Department, which he said carries an unnecessary burden from criminal justice policies of New York City encroaching on the county.
