BACKGROUND:

• Piccirillo, 40, of Holtsville, is seeking a third term.
• He won his first term in 2019.
• He is a third-generation Sachem High School graduate.

ISSUES:

• Piccirillo said he has been a fiscal watchdog in the Suffolk County Legislature and that taxes and spending remain a top priority for him. He is chairman of the Environment, Parks and Agriculture Committee and said he has worked to maintain the suburban way of life through land preservation and water-quality measures.
• His top priorities also include holding the line on taxes and spending, public safety and constituent services.
• He is also chairman of the Cyber Attack Investigation Committee that is examining how the September 2022 Suffolk County cyberattack happened and how another can be prevented.
