- Trotta, 62, of Fort Salonga, is seeking his sixth term serving the 13th District.
- He graduated from C.W. Post College and received a master’s in labor management from Stony Brook University.
- He retired from the Suffolk County Police Department after 25 years, rising to detective.

- Trotta wants the county to preserve open spaces from development.
- He wants to work to protect clean-water drinking sources.
