BACKGROUND:
- Donnelly, 57, of Deer Park, was elected in 2017 and currently chairs the public safety committee. Previously, he served on the Babylon Town Board.
- He is a retired New York City firefighter and remains an active volunteer in Suffolk.
- He earned an associate degree from Suffolk County Community College and a bachelor’s from St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn.
ISSUES:
- Donnelly said his focus is public safety, constituent service and quality-of-life issues.
- He said he has worked in a bipartisan manner roads, sewers, parks and other infrastructure investments. He voted with Republicans to repeal the county’s $30 red-light-camera fee. He has served on panels addressing criminal justice, distracted driving and the opioid epidemic.
- He said he supported the proposed water-quality referendum.
