- Russell, 61, of Coram, is a retired nurse and trial attorney.
- She was a volunteer member at Dress for Success Brookhaven in the Career Edge Program and team coach for the Mock Trial Team at Longwood High School.
- She has held various leadership roles in her church and worked with the Democratic Lawyers Council for nearly a decade.
- Russell said she supports a responsible closure of the landfill, including a cleanup of the entire area around the property.
- She said she is an advocate for redevelopment of abandoned properties to provide workforce housing for the middle class, adding that Brookhaven cannot continue to have people leave because it is too expensive to live there.
- She said she supports the development of a new revenue stream to keep taxes from increasing, and that transparency and diversity in local government are a priority.
