BACKGROUND:

  • Foley, 55, of Blue Point, was elected to the 5th Town Council District in a special election in 2014.
  • He has served on the Brookhaven Town Zoning Board.
  • He has held leadership roles with the Patchogue Medford Youth Organization and the Bayport Blue Point Little League.

ISSUES:

  • The self-described fiscal conservative said he will work to ensure that each governmental department’s finances are being managed efficiently and effectively.
  • He said a big issue is the balancing act of not wanting to raise taxes but making sure that there are enough resources to meet residents’ needs.
  • He said he is eyeing opportunities to redevelop blighted areas.
