ISSUES

  • DeSena cited her work in reducing the tax burden in North Hempstead and said that if reelected she would continue to protect local taxpayers by cutting wasteful government spending and finding innovative ways to make town operations more efficient.
  • She said she is focused on keeping policies such as defunding the police out of North Hempstead, that she would always back local law enforcement, work closely with the Nassau County Police Department and seek to block massive apartment developments that she said ruin suburban neighborhoods.
  • DeSena said her administration would continue its record-breaking road repaving program, upgrading parks through the “Parks Renaissance” initiative, planting trees and pushing long-stalled projects such as the reconstruction of Town Dock and the Westbury Avenue revitalization, both of which recently broke ground.
