  • Vargas, 56, of Miller Place, is running on the Democratic and Working Families party lines in the general election.
  • She has been an attorney in private practice in Bay Shore specializing in matrimonial and family law since 2003. Her practice has also included criminal law and general litigation.
  • In 2023, she became a mediator in the Suffolk County Supreme Court Matrimonial Mediation Program.
  • Vargas was appointed by the Appellate Division, 2nd Judicial Department, as a member on the Grievance Committee for the 10th Judicial District from 2020 to 2026.
  • She received her bachelor’s from the University at Albany in 1989 and her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1992.
  • She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1993.
