BACKGROUND:
- Figliola, 42, is also running on the Conservative line, and lives in East Setauket.
- He is executive vice president of government relations and economic development for consulting/lobbying firm Empire Government Strategies.
- He was deputy supervisor for economic development for Brookhaven Town. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s in public policy.
ISSUES:
- Figliola will focus on public health and safety, cracking down on fentanyl dealers and working with law enforcement to lock up dealers and treat addicts.
- He’ll champion tax relief, including a rebate for the county’s 2.5% home fuel tax for seniors, EMS workers, firefighters and veterans.
- He’ll work to make sure drinking water is protected, including advocating for additional sewers and use of treated water for irrigation on golf courses.
