Trupiano-O’Keefe, 61 of Kings Park, is a registered Democrat and is running on the Democratic party line in the general election.
She is a retired nuclear medicine technologist and worked in the healthcare industry for more than 35 years.
Trupiano-O’Keefe said she is coming out of retirement to help make changes to the healthcare system.

Trupiano-O’Keefe said that if elected she wants to make healthcare more affordable, expand access to preventive care and ensure that no family has to choose between getting well and paying bills.
She said she will fight for affordable housing, good-paying jobs, expanded vocational education and responsible tax policies that help families stay and thrive on Long Island.
Trupiano-O’Keefe said she wants to hold government responsible for the long overdue cleanup and development of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center and the continued development of all our downtown areas.
