Walker, 75, of Hicksville, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. She is seeking a 10th term.
She was an Oyster Bay Town councilwoman from 2004 to 2009.
Walker is an active member of the Hicksville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and previously served as a trustee on the Hicksville Board of Education.

Walker said she wants to make Nassau more affordable by looking for solutions. She supports housing developments that include affordable units and wants to explore incentives for volunteer firefighters so young people can stay and serve their communities.
She said another priority is to provide safe drinking water for residents and stay on top of the cleanup of the Grumman/Navy plume. Walker said she would work with local water districts and push for faster cleanup of the contamination.
Walker also said she wants to work with the police department to keep neighborhoods safe and respond to quality-of-life concerns ranging from human trafficking at illicit massage spas to managing traffic and infrastructure.
