ISSUES
- Komatireddy said that if elected she would work to “lock up repeat offenders” by supporting district attorneys at the local level, ensuring they have resources. She said she also would work with the State Legislature to change bail laws.
- She said she would work to provide residential treatment for people experiencing homelessness, building out treatment centers and launching an office of civil commitment staffed with law enforcement and health professionals to help intervene when someone is having a severe episode on the street. “We need to do better,” she said.
- Komatireddy said she would work to root out fraud inside and outside of state government. She pledged to make Medicaid fraud a priority, as well as other types of fraud, including impostor and confidence scams that prey on senior citizens.
