BACKGROUND
- Davis, 64, of Rockville Centre, is running on the Democratic party line in the general election. He grew up in the Village of Hempstead, where he attended elementary, middle and high school before earning his undergraduate degree from the University at Buffalo and his law degree from Hofstra University.
- Davis has practiced law for more than 30 years and said he decided he wanted to become a lawyer when he was 7 years old.
- He helped found RVC Friends of MLK, a group that raises resources for residents of a subsidized housing area in Rockville Centre. He was elected to the Nassau County Legislature in 2023 and reelected in 2025.
ISSUES
- Davis said affordability is a top concern for residents and that he focuses on reviewing the county budget to make sure taxpayer money is spent efficiently and not wasted. He also has held tax grievance workshops to help residents understand the deductions they may be entitled to.
- Davis said public safety is a priority and that he has worked to develop relationships with law enforcement agencies throughout the district to address community concerns.
- Davis said infrastructure such as roads, sewers and clean water is another priority. He pointed to his work helping to secure $1.75 million for Hempstead’s water filtration system, and said he continues to help address bureaucratic obstacles to move future projects forward.
