Siela A. Bynoe

State Senator, District 6

Bynoe, 59, of Westbury, is seeking her second term as state senator for the 6th District. She was first elected to the Nassau County Legislature in a 2014 special election and served five full terms.
She is principal of Acclaim Management Strategies, which provides consultation and strategic planning services to municipalities and private development corporations.
She has an associate degree from Nassau Community College, and in 2001 graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University and in 2006 earned a master’s degree in public administration from LIU Post.

Bynoe said she wants to advance policies that make Long Island more affordable for families, taking on issues like childcare.
Bynoe said she wants to continue fighting to make sure public schools are properly funded with the spread of charter schools in the district.
She also wants to see utility and insurance companies provide rebates to customers when the companies generate excess revenue.
