BACKGROUND:
- Kennedy, 67, of Nesconset, is running for a fourth term.
- She worked as a legislative aide to the late Donald Blydenburgh of Smithtown, a county legislator. She had also been an administrative aide to former Legis. John M. Kennedy, her husband. She succeeded him in the county legislative post.
- She has also been a hospital nurse for 30 years and managed a small business.
ISSUES:
- Kennedy said if reelected she plans to push for more infrastructure improvements in the county including road replacements.
- She supports continued work to protect drinking water and improve waste treatment.
- She said she wants to seek more affordable housing for seniors, veterans and working families.
