BACKGROUND:

• McGrath, 64, of Hewlett, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
• He is a personal injury attorney and senior partner at Sullivan Papain Block McGrath Coffinas & Cannavo P.C., in Garden City, a law firm that was Sullivan Papain when he joined in 1983.
• In addition to his litigation, he has served as an adjunct special professor of law at Hofstra University's Maurice A. Deane School of Law for the past 31 years.
• In 2021, he was chairman of the transition team of Nassau County Executive-elect Bruce Blakeman.
• He graduated from St. John’s University in 1980 and earned his law degree from University of Dayton School of Law in 1983.
• In 1984, he was admitted to the New York State Bar, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
