- He served on the Mineola School Board for 10 years, then spent 20 years in the state Assembly representing Nassau County, focusing on environmental, education and local fiscal issues.
- DiNapoli was appointed state comptroller to fill an unexpired term in 2007 and is now seeking his fifth full term.
ISSUES
- DiNapoli said he wants to help New Yorkers with the high cost of living by eliminating government waste, fighting corruption and returning lost funds to their owners.
- DiNapoli said he would continue to aggressively audit state and local governments to make sure money is going where it is supposed to.
- He also wants to continue the success of programs such as the 529 College Savings Program and NY ABLE Program. The state’s 529 savings program allows families to save for their children’s college education. The NY ABLE Program helps New Yorkers with disabilities save tax-free for disability-related expenses.
