EMILY’S List’s super PAC has upped its television ad buy for Democratic congressional candidate Anna Throne-Holst by $250,000 in her primary race, bringing the group’s total spending to $720,000 for the former Southampton supervisor, federal election records show.

It’s the most the group has spent on a House race this cycle, according to records.

Throne-Holst is running against venture capitalist Dave Calone in Tuesday’s Democratic primary in the 1st Congressional District. The winner will face Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley) in November.

The group’s independent expenditure arm, Women First!, has been running a television spot touting Throne-Holst’s record as supervisor.

Rachel Thomas, EMILY’S List spokeswoman, said, “This seat is a top pickup opportunity for Democrats.”

Throne-Holst spokesman Andrew Grunwald said, “Anna is proud to have the support of the country’s largest organization dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women.”

Calone spokesman Rahul Kale noted his heavy support from elected officials inside the district. “Anna needs outside money to cover her track record . . . of donating to Conservatives four times.”
