Ex-Brookhaven town attorney picked for run
Stung by Democrat Suffolk Legis. Sarah Anker's special-election upset win, Brookhaven Republicans are running former town attorney Karen Wilutis against her in November. Wilutis screens tonight with Conservatives, seeking cross-endorsement. The GOPsettled on Bellport restaurant owner John Giannott to succeed retiring Legis. Jack Eddington (I-Medford), whose aide Rob Calarco is the Democratic pick. Republican Belle Terre Mayor Ted Lucki was tapped to oppose Democrat Kara Hahn to replace term-limited Legis. Vivian Vilora Fisher (D-Setauket), and Manorville civic leader Susan Sineo is to face Legis. Kate Browning (WFP-Shirley). -- Rick Brand
