Ex-Suffolk exec Levy in candidate-platform startup
Former County Executive Steve Levy is now a partner in a new business dubbed “Candidates Speak” which plans to video tape contenders for local office and give them 10 to 15 minutes of unfiltered access on computer to speak directly to voters.
Levy with his partner Kevin McCrudden of Smithtown are charging candidates $500 to tape them delivering their platform, which voters can see on computer via their local Patch, Facebook or You Tube. Levy said they are starting with Huntington candidates, but McCrudden said they have written the all 198 candidates islandwide offering which they hope to have complete by early October. After November, they plan to expand their effort to fire district elections in December, libary and school district contest in spring.
“If you dont have time to attend a civic meeting, you can click a mouse and see every candidate in their own words,” Levy said.
