Fight over Nassau parks fees

“We’re taking back our parks,” Nassau CE Edward Mangano says in announcing a new fee schedule for county parks users.

“Camouflage taxation,” responds parks activist Bruce Piel of Wantagh.

And so the current battle over the new fee structure is framed in easily understood words that fail to illuminate.

For the new fee structure, see the Parks Department site here, and when you click on the links to take you to sites of the new sports leagues, notice the pages that pop up reading: “You are leaving the Nassau County website for a site belonging to another entity.”
