BACKGROUND:

  • Santos, 34, of Whitestone, Queens, is making his second run for the 3rd Congressional District as the Republican nominee.
  • Santos said he is self-employed in financial capital markets, working for the Devolder Family Office, his family's trust company, as a managing member. He was formerly regional director of Harbor City Capital.
  • He graduated from Baruch College, where he studied finance and economics.

ISSUES:

  • Santos said he would work to secure federal dollars to boost law enforcement departments in the 3rd Congressional District.
  • Santos said he would work to cut inflation by cutting government spending.
  • He also said he would advocate to restart work on the Keystone Pipeline to boost domestic energy production.
