Government mergers focus of Levy group
First, former Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy started a consulting business, Common Sense Strategies. Now he has added what he calls his "do-tank" -- as opposed to a think tank -- calling it the "Center for Government Savings."
Levy, at Long Island Metro Business Action, said Friday that his group, with an advisory board of 30 business leaders, is looking to help community groups that want to consolidate government functions, such as those seeking special-district mergers. He said his group could advise on preparing petitions, legal backup and field work.
