Guv Race: No word on Mangano appearance for Paladino
Guv Race: No word on Mangano appearance for Paladino Carl Paladino says he will meet with Nassau Republican leaders on Wednesday evening and speak at a rally for party activists in Hicksville. But there's no word on whether the county's top Republican, County Executive Ed Mangano, will appear with Paladino, the Republican gubernatorial nominee.
Mangano's spokesman, Mike Martino, referred all calls the party headquarters. Tony Santino, a spokesman for Nassau Republican Chairman Joe Mondello, hasn't returned calls.
Mangano has been silent on the governor's race since his preferred candidate, Rick Lazio, lost in the GOP primary. In July, he met publicly with Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, the Democrat nominee, and said he supported Cuomo's 2 percent property tax cap.
