In the three key Suffolk legislature battleground races, incumbents hold the edge in the campaign season's first fundraising filing.

Freshman GOP Legis. Kevin McCaffrey in the 14th District has $53,377 on hand, raising $32,670 in the last six months, while Democratic challenger Tim Sini has $45,731 on hand, spending only $1,547.

Democratic Legis. Sarah Anker in the 6th District reported having $47,517 after raising $17,883 in the last six months. Republican challenger Steve Tricarico, Brookhaven's deputy highway superintendent, raised $18,425, but only had $9,219 on hand.

Meanwhile, Democratic Legis. Rob Calarco has $34,726 on hand, having raised $25,275 in the past six months. His Republican challenger Frank Tassone has raised $23,530 but has $15,625 on hand. His largest expense was $5,720 to pay for fundraisers.
