JARETT C. GANDOLFO
REPUBLICAN
BACKGROUND:
- Gandolfo, 32, of Sayville, runs for a second term, with the endorsement of the Conservative Party.
- He is on the board of the Islip Town Community Development Agency and was chief of staff for then-Assemb. Andrew Garbarino (R-Sayville).
- His bachelor’s degree in criminal justice is from the University at Albany — SUNY and his master’s in public administration from Villanova University.
ISSUES:
- He would fight for funding to make universal pre-K available to all 4-year-olds statewide, saying this would help save day care costs as families struggle with rising cost.
- Gandolfo would call on the governor and legislative leaders to expand the Oakdale sewage infrastructure project to points east, saying this would protect the Great South Bay and also lift water restrictions that keep Main Street restaurants and other businesses from growing.
- He would repeal cashless bail or at least give back more discretion to judges.
- His efforts jump-started a $30 million study to redesign the traffic-jammed Oakdale Merge. He also got grants for safety improvements at various Sayville crosswalks.
