Suffolk GOP Chairman John Jay LaValle basked in Donald Trump’s victory last week, but said it was too early to know if he’ll play any role in a future administration.

LaValle saw Trump at the campaign’s Manhattan victory party last Tuesday night, where he said the candidate thanked him.

“I don’t expect anything. I got a personal thank you from the next President of the United States. Anything else is gravy,” LaValle said in an interview.

LaValle said he helped raise $1.2 million for Trump and appeared on over 120 television news shows on Trump’s behalf.

Asked if he were interested in leading the state Republican Party, LaValle responded: “We have a state party chairman. As long as the seat’s occupied it’s not something I’d discuss.”

LaValle began election night with Suffolk Republicans in Patchogue before heading to Manhattan.

LaValle, along with Nassau GOP Chairman Joseph Mondello and Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, endorsed Trump in April at a rally in Bethpage.
