Suffolk Comptroller John M. Kennedy has begun an aggressive push to raise money for re-election next year, scheduling four fundraisers — the first one a labor luncheon scheduled this week on the Ides of March.

The March 15 labor event is hosted by Plumbers Local 200 at their training center in Ronkonkoma. It is sponsored jointly by the Long Island Federation of Labor and the Nassau Suffolk Building Trades Council, which Kennedy’s late father, Jack Kennedy, once headed.

That event will be followed by a fundraising campaign kickoff March 28 at Ristegio’s Restaurant in Patchogue; a business breakfast April 28 at the Huntington Hilton; and a Cinco de Mayo fete at Café Havana in Smithtown May 4. Kennedy also is planning a golf outing in September and barbecue event over the summer, aides said. Kennedy has $63,913 in his coffers.
