BACKGROUND:
- Brown, 54, of Northport, is making his second run for an elective office.
- He also is running on the Conservative line.
- He is an attorney who specializes in commercial real estate.
- He graduated from SUNY Albany and received his law degree from Touro Law School.
ISSUES:
- Brown said he would like to see respect restored to law enforcement. He said you start by restoring faith in the justice system by funding the police, repealing bail reform and giving discretion back to judges.
- He said he wants to help constituents deal with inflation by pushing through legislation such as the gas tax suspension.
- He said he is working to integrate the state office of mental health with the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports and continue to fight the opioid crisis. He wants to restore the opportunity for people addicted to drugs who commit petty crimes to be able to go into treatment for recovery in lieu of jail time.
