New mailing from Kemp Hannon and Francesca Carlow in Nassau's 6th SD Credit: Newsday montage Nov. 1, 2010

Catching up with our Saturday mail box — the one the United States Post Office uses.

-Dueling mailers from the candidates in Nassau’s Sixth state Senate District: Republican incumbent Kemp Hannon boasted of reducing taxes, creating jobs and capping spending. Democratic challenger Francesca Carlow, shunned by her own party, stressed her anti-Establishment creds. “Send one of us to Albany,” the mailer said.

And the Town of Hempstead receiver of taxes, Don Clavin, sent out a postcard to say he will be hosting forums on property taxes later this month at the Island Trees Library, an afternoon session on Nov. 17th, and an evening session on Nov. 22nd.
