Labor officials are buzzing today about meeting last night between Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and New York City union officials.

It occurred just hours after thousands of union members protested at the Capitol about the governor’s proposal to reduce pension benefits and top legislative leaders signaled reservations about the idea.

[UPDATE:  Cuomo's office said the meeting had been scheduled a week ago and that it is holding meetings with labor on "multiple" issues.]
