Food TV star Sandra Lee, in one of her first public appearances since she was hospitalized will be with her longtime boyfriend, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, as they attend events with Pope Francis in Manhattan on Friday.
"What a blessing from God," Lee posted on her blog Thursday evening. "I am cancer free, healthy and back to me! Seeing the Pope with my sweetheart is absolutely amazing! Thank you Lord for giving me such a blessed life."
The couple attended events at St. Patrick's Cathedral Thursday evening and on Friday will visit the Sept. 11 memorial and will be in Harlem as part of the pope's tour.
Lee attended the Emmy Awards in one of her first appearances since her spokeswoman said she fought an infection related to her double mastectomy. She had unexpected surgery in August and was in the hospital a week.
The spokeswoman had said the infection was related to Lee's double mastectomy in May after early signs of breast cancer were detected.
