Nassau and Suffolk Democrats named four candidates for State Supreme Court Wednesday night at a bicounty convention at Crest Hollow Country club in Woodbury.

But Suffolk party officials say talks are still underway about potential cross-endorsements for several judicial posts.

The convention named Suffolk incumbent state State Court Justice Arthur Pitts and Hope Zimmerman, a Family Court judge who also is an acting State Supreme Court justice.

Democrats also put forward Kathy Bergman, an Independence Party member, and Jean O’Rourke, the Democrats’ deputy Suffolk elections commissioner.

However, the nominations of Bergman and O’Rourke could change if agreements can be forged with either major or minor parties in a cross-endorsement for Pitts.

Republicans, Conservative and the Independence Parties are holding their conventions Monday night.
