BACKGROUND:
- Cairo, 45, of Garden City, is running on the Republican, Democratic and Conservative party lines.
- Cairo is serving as a Nassau County Family Court judge since 2021.
- From 2006 through 2020, Cairo was an attorney at the law firm Jaspan Schlesinger LLP in Garden City and became a partner of the firm in 2011.
- She was a deputy village attorney in the Village of Valley Stream from 2018 to 2020 and counsel to the Village’s Board of Appeals from 2012 to 2020.
- She received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Maryland in 1999 and earned her law degree from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law in 2002.
- Cairo is past president of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and a past president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Nassau County. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
