BACKGROUND:

  • Montesano, 68, of Glen Head, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
  • He was a state assemblyman in the 15th District from 2010 until July 2022, serving as minority whip since 2013. In July, he was appointed to the Nassau County District Court by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
  • He was an attorney in private practice in Glen Cove from 1990 until March 2022.
  • He served as acting village justice (2003-2009) and a village prosecutor (1998-2003) for Roslyn Harbor, and is a retired detective for the NYPD.
  • Montesano earned his associate’s degree in police science from Nassau Community College in 1983, and his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. John’s University in 1986.
  • He received his law degree from the City University of New York School of Law at Queens College in 1989, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1989.
