BACKGROUND: Quinn, 62, of Eastport also is running on the Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Working Families and Independence party lines. He is an acting state Supreme Court justice. Quinn is seeking re-election to a second term on County Court. He was appointed acting justice by Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau in 2009, following his 2008 election. Quinn was an acting judge in Suffolk County Family Court from 2009 to 2010. Before Quinn’s elevation to the bench, he was a partner in the Lindenhurst law firm of Phillips, Weiner, Quinn, Artura & Cox, practicing general, criminal, civil, family, elder and commercial law for 25 years. Quinn served as an associate police justice in the Village of Lindenhurst from 2006 to 2008. He graduated from St. John’s University in Queens in 1978, and received a law degree from Washburn University in 1983. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984. He is an officer for the Suffolk Academy of Law. Quinn has been an adjunct law professor at Touro Law School for the past six years.
