Nancy Lynn Thiele, senior counsel for the state Senate Codes Committee and wife of Assemb. Fred Thiele (I-Sag Harbor), is to be appointed to an assistant town attorney position in East Hampton at Thursday night’s town board meeting, according to a town official.
Thiele was also being considered as a top contender for the town attorney position in Southampton, according to new Southampton Supervisor Jay Schneiderman.
Thiele is currently a $92,000-a-year senior counsel for the state Senate Codes Committee run by the Republican majority. In the past she held a similar post in the Assembly’s GOP minority and once served as an assistant district attorney in Rensselaer County.
